Dickinson anchors southwestern North Dakota as the gateway to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, just 35 miles via Highway 22. Interstate 94 runs right through town, connecting east to Bismarck and west to Montana, while US 85 heads north to the Bakken oil fields. The Bakken boom transformed this former farm town into an energy hub with expanded services and dining. Dickinson's airport sits just two miles from downtown, making it the closest commercial airport to the famous Badlands.
