Diamondhead is a planned community in southern Mississippi, about an hour from New Orleans via Interstate 10. Take Exit 28 to Highway 603 to reach this pine-forested city of 9,300 residents. It's conveniently located 20 miles from Gulf Coast beaches and serves as a quiet base for exploring the region. The city gets its name from a diamond-shaped lake at the center of the original golf course development.
