Diamond is a small Illinois city of about 3,000 people located 60 miles southwest of Chicago via Interstate 55. Take Exit 236 to reach the town center. US Route 113 connects Diamond to neighboring communities, while State Route 129 heads north to Joliet for daily commuters. The town features one of Illinois' last remaining coal mine museums in a restored 1930s mine shaft building.
