Dewey Beach is a tiny oceanfront town on Delaware's coast, reachable via Route 1 from DC (3 hours), Philadelphia (2.5 hours), or Baltimore (2.5 hours). The year-round population of 351 swells dramatically each summer as visitors flock to the mile-long beach. Unlike other Delaware beaches, Dewey prohibits driving on the sand, keeping it pristine for pedestrians only.
