Denison sits on US Highway 30 in west-central Iowa, about an hour from both Omaha and Des Moines. Most visitors take US 30 directly through town or connect via Interstate 80 to the south. The city serves as a regional hub along the historic Lincoln Highway corridor. Denison claims fame as the birthplace of Maytag blue cheese, first produced here in 1941.
