Demorest is a small mountain town in northeast Georgia, about 90 miles from Atlanta via US 441 and GA 365. The area offers cooler temperatures than the Georgia lowlands thanks to its Blue Ridge foothills location. Popular routes include scenic drives north on US 441 to mountain attractions like Tallulah Gorge, or south toward Lake Lanier and Atlanta. The town is home to Piedmont University, whose campus features the striking Victorian-era Demorest Springs Hotel from 1890.
