Deltana lies along the Richardson Highway about 100 miles southeast of Fairbanks in Alaska's Interior. This community of 2,000 sits where Route 4 cuts through the Tanana River valley, experiencing the region's signature temperature extremes from minus 40 in winter to 80-plus in summer. Most visitors drive the 90-minute route from Fairbanks, while those from Anchorage face a full day's journey of 450 miles via the Parks Highway connection. The community takes its name from the nearby Delta River.
