Delbarton is a small Appalachian community in Mingo County, near the Kentucky border. Take US Route 119 through the Tug Fork valley to reach it from Williamson (15 miles south) or Charleston (80 miles northeast). The winding mountain roads require careful driving, especially in winter. Most traffic is local, though the route connects West Virginia to eastern Kentucky via Pikeville. The town was named after local landowner Del Barton.
