Deering is a farming town of 68 people in north-central North Dakota, about 40 miles northeast of Minot via US Highway 52. The drive from Minot takes 45 minutes through wheat country, while Minot International Airport is 50 miles southwest. The town sits along the old Great Northern Railway line and still has its original grain elevator standing tall against the prairie sky.
