Deepwater is a small farming town in west-central Missouri, accessible via Route 13 from Clinton (12 miles north) or Butler (15 miles south). Interstate 49 provides the main connection for longer trips, with Kansas City about 75 miles northwest and Springfield 90 miles southeast. The community sits among corn and soybean fields on Missouri's western prairie, where winters can bring challenging ice storms. The town gets its name from an unusually deep well that early settlers had to dig to reach water beneath the flat terrain.
