Decatur is a small town of about 1,500 people in northwest Arkansas, near the Oklahoma border. Take Highway 59 from I-49 near Gentry to reach the town center. Most visitors arrive via Northwest Arkansas National Airport, about 35 miles southeast. The area features rolling hills and forests typical of the Arkansas River Valley. The historic red brick courthouse annex downtown served as Benton County's northern courthouse from 1900 to 1928.
