De Soto is a small Iowa town of about 1,000 people located 25 miles west of Des Moines via I-80 Exit 113. Highway 169 connects it to other Dallas County communities like Adel. The town sits in typical central Iowa farmland along the Raccoon River valley. Its restored 1916 railroad depot now serves as a community center and local history museum.
