De Beque is a small Colorado River town on Interstate 70, about 35 miles east of Grand Junction. It's a handy pit stop for cross-country travelers, with basic services right off the highway. The surrounding high desert features classic red rock formations and sagebrush mesas. The town still operates one of Colorado's last active one-room schoolhouses.
