It sits 20 miles southwest of Sheridan via US Highway 14, which continues west through the Bighorn Mountains toward Yellowstone. The town serves as a gateway for tourists heading to the national forest and makes a convenient stop along the scenic mountain route. The family-owned Foothills Motel still displays its original 1964 neon sign.
