Dayton is a small Pennsylvania borough of 521 people located about 40 miles northeast of Pittsburgh along the Allegheny River. The scenic drive follows US Route 28 north from Pittsburgh through river valley towns, while Route 422 provides access from the north. The town features one of Pennsylvania's rare cable-stayed suspension bridges from 1905 that still carries single-lane traffic across the Allegheny River.
