Dawson is a tiny farming town in south-central North Dakota, 45 miles southeast of Bismarck via Highway 83 south to Steele, then Highway 3 east. The town sits in classic prairie farm country with grain fields stretching endlessly under big skies. Highway 3 provides the main east-west connection through the area, linking to Jamestown and other regional centers. The massive grain elevator dominates the skyline, visible for miles across the flat landscape.
