Dawson is a tiny farming town of about 100 people in central Iowa, roughly 30 miles northwest of Des Moines. Take Highway 141 from I-35 near Perry to reach this rural community surrounded by corn and soybean fields. The town preserves a historic one-room schoolhouse from 1884 that served local families for 75 years.
