Daviston is a tiny Alabama community of about 200 people in Tallapoosa County, roughly 50 miles northeast of Montgomery. Take State Route 22 east from Alexander City (15 miles) or connect via US 231 north from Montgomery through Wetumpka. From Atlanta, use I-85 south to Auburn, then US 280 west to Route 22. The town got its name from Davidson's Store, which housed the area's first post office in the 1890s.
