Daphne sits along Mobile Bay's eastern shore, about 15 miles from Mobile via the scenic Causeway Boulevard bridge. Interstate 10 brings long-distance visitors, while US Highway 98 connects the city to Gulf Shores and Spanish Fort. The area's subtropical climate and bayfront location make it popular with weekend travelers from Birmingham taking I-65 to I-10. Each May, Daphne hosts the traditional Blessing of the Fleet ceremony, where dozens of decorated fishing boats receive blessings for safe voyages.
