Danville is a small farming town of 930 people in southeastern Iowa, connected by Highway 34 to Burlington (15 miles) and Mount Pleasant (20 miles). The area features rolling agricultural land with Iowa's typical continental climate. Longer routes use Interstate 35 about 45 miles west or Highway 61 along the Mississippi. The town's historic grain elevator still operates alongside the railroad tracks that helped establish the community.
