Dane is a small farming community of about 1,000 people in south-central Wisconsin, 20 miles northwest of Madison via US Highway 14 and County Highway K. The town sits in rolling dairy country with typical Midwest seasons. Most visitors arrive from Madison on the direct US 14 route, while longer trips from Milwaukee or Chicago connect through Madison. The town's 1857 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a piece of Wisconsin's pioneer past.
