Danbury is a tiny county seat of about 200 people in Stokes County's rolling hills along the Dan River. US Highway 8 runs through town, connecting north to Virginia and south to Winston-Salem 30 miles away, while State Route 89 links eastward to other county communities. Most visitors come from the Triad cities or pass through exploring the Dan River corridor and nearby Hanging Rock State Park. The 1904 red brick courthouse still dominates the small downtown.
