Damascus is a small Arkansas town of 348 people in Van Buren County, located along US Highway 65 about 45 miles north of Conway. Highway 16 intersects here, creating a crossroads in the Arkansas River valley where the Ozarks begin. The town's post office has operated since 1887 in the same modest building.
