Crystal Mountain is a year-round resort destination in Benzie County, about 30 miles from both Traverse City and Manistee. Visitors from Grand Rapids take US-131 north to M-115 west, while those from Detroit use I-75 to US-10 west. The area gets reliable lake-effect snow for winter sports and offers golf and hiking in warmer months. The resort features an Alpine slide where riders control wheeled sleds down a concrete track through the woods.
