Crossnore is a tiny mountain community of 115 people perched at 3,600 feet in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains. Reach it via winding US 221 from Linville or US 321 from Hickory and Blowing Rock. The town centers around the historic Crossnore School and Children's Home, founded in 1913 to serve Appalachian children.
