Cross Timbers is a tiny lakefront community of 379 people in western Missouri's Hickory County, sitting right on Pomme de Terre Lake. Take Highway 83 north from Bolivar (25 miles) or connect via Highway 13 from Springfield through Bolivar. It's Missouri's smallest incorporated city with direct lake access.
