Cromwell is a small farming town of 423 people in Carlton County, about 20 miles southwest of Duluth via Highway 210. The Kettle River runs along the southern edge of town, and County Road 61 provides north-south access to Highway 33 near Moose Lake. The river is known locally for northern pike and bass fishing, especially near the old mill dam site east of the main highway bridge.
