Corrales is a historic village about 15 miles northwest of Albuquerque, accessible via Alameda Boulevard west from I-25. The rural community sits along the Rio Grande at 4,900 feet elevation, maintaining its agricultural character with acequia irrigation ditches. Main routes include Corrales Road running north-south and connections to US 550. The village features some of New Mexico's oldest irrigation systems, with acequias from the 1600s still watering cottonwoods and small farms.
