Cooperstown, North Dakota sits about 100 miles northwest of Fargo on Highway 200, serving as Griggs County's seat with around 900 residents. The main route from major cities follows Highway 45 north from I-94 near Jamestown, then connects to Highway 200. This agricultural town occupies rolling prairie typical of the northern Great Plains, with grain elevators marking the horizon. The 1904 Carnegie Library remains one of the few surviving Carnegie libraries in the state.
