Coolville is a small Ohio town in Athens County, about 15 miles southeast of Athens via State Route 7. Visitors typically arrive from Athens using US-50 east to SR-7 south, or from Columbus via US-33 through the rolling Appalachian foothills. The community of 664 people sits along the Hocking River in pleasantly rural terrain. The town preserves its original 1876 one-room schoolhouse as a historical museum.
