Cooleemee is a small river town in central North Carolina, about 40 miles from Winston-Salem via I-40 and US 601. This former mill town of nearly 1,000 people sits on the South Yadkin River in Davie County. The main routes are US 601 and NC 801, connecting to Mocksville and Salisbury. The restored Textile Heritage Museum occupies the original 1901 cotton mill office building.
