Cool is a tiny Parker County community of 159 people, about 60 miles west of Fort Worth via I-20 and US 180. The settlement sits in rolling Cross Timbers country with natural oak groves providing shade between ranch pastures. Most visitors drive through Weatherford to reach Cool, continuing west on Highway 180 for about 15 miles before turning onto local roads. The town earned its name from a natural spring that stayed refreshingly cool even during scorching Texas summers.
