Concordia is a small farming town of 2,300 people in Lafayette County, about an hour east of Kansas City on Highway 50. The main route is Highway 50, which connects Kansas City to Jefferson City, with Highway 23 coming down from Lexington. Most traffic is local agricultural business or travelers passing through on longer trips across Missouri. The town's 1878 Sacred Heart Catholic Church has twin spires visible for miles across the prairie.
