Como is a small East Texas town of about 600 people, located 12 miles southwest of Sulphur Springs via Highway 11. Most visitors arrive from Dallas by taking I-30 east for 80 miles, then Highway 11 west. The community sits in Hopkins County's rolling hills where prairie meets pine forest. Como was named after Como, Italy, by settlers who thought the local landscape resembled the Italian lake region.
