Comanche is a small Oklahoma town of 1,500 people along US Highway 81 in Stephens County. It's 15 miles north of Duncan and about 70 miles south of Oklahoma City via the same highway. State Highway 53 runs east-west through town. The restored 1920s movie theater downtown still shows weekend films and serves as the community's social hub.
