Columbus is a tiny farming town of 67 people in northwestern North Dakota, about 15 miles from Canada. Access is via Highway 5, connecting to US 85 near Lignite. Most visitors come from Minot (60 miles southeast via US 52 north to Highway 5) or Williston (70 miles southwest via US 85 north). The town is known for its towering grain elevators that dominate the prairie landscape for miles around.
