Columbia is a small city in southeastern Alabama's Houston County, accessible primarily via State Route 52. Most visitors arrive from nearby Dothan, about 15 miles away, or take longer routes from Montgomery (90 miles) or Birmingham (150 miles) using US Highway 231. The area features rolling pine forests and farmland typical of Alabama's Coastal Plain region. The historic downtown still showcases the old Columbia Bank building from the community's early commercial days.
