Colonial Beach is a small Potomac River town about 65 miles southeast of D.C., reached via Route 3 east from Fredericksburg or Route 301 from the Washington area. The Northern Neck community offers a two-mile sandy riverfront and connects to Maryland via the Harry Nice Bridge. It's one of the few Virginia towns with its own municipal airport featuring a 2,400-foot runway.
