Colona is a small Illinois town of about 5,000 people located 15 miles southeast of the Quad Cities along the Rock River. Take I-88 to Exit 36, then head north on Route 82 for 8 miles. It's a 140-mile drive west from Chicago or a quick trip from the Quad Cities area. The town hosts the annual Green River Rendezvous each September, featuring 1830s fur trading demonstrations and black powder shooting competitions.
