Cologne is a small city of about 2,300 people located 30 miles southwest of Minneapolis in Carver County's farm country. Highway 212 is the main route, connecting directly to the Twin Cities metro area and continuing west toward Glencoe. Popular drives include the daily commute east to Minneapolis (45 minutes) and weekend trips west through the Minnesota River Valley or north to the Waconia lakes area. The town's most distinctive feature is its historic 1930s water tower that still dominates the downtown skyline.
