Colman is a small farming town in southeastern South Dakota, about 20 miles northwest of Sioux Falls via Highway 34. The area features rolling prairie and agricultural fields typical of eastern South Dakota, with a continental climate bringing warm summers and cold winters. Highway 34 serves as the main route through the region, connecting to larger communities in both directions. The town still operates one of the few remaining original wooden grain elevators in this part of the state.
