Colbert is a small town of about 800 people in northeast Georgia's Madison County, sitting along State Route 98 about 15 miles from Commerce. Most visitors arrive via I-85 to Commerce, then take US 441 south to SR 98. Athens is about 25 miles south on US 441, making it a popular day trip route. The town features the restored 1890s Colbert Depot, a former railroad station now serving as a community museum.
