Cokato is a farming town of about 3,000 people in Wright County, 50 miles west of Minneapolis via Highway 12. The town connects north-south communities through Highway 15 and serves as a gateway between the Twin Cities metro and Minnesota's agricultural region. Visitors often stop while traveling Highway 12 across central Minnesota or make day trips from the metro area. The Cokato Museum houses an exceptional collection of early 1900s rural photography by Gust Akerlund.
