Cohoes sits where the Mohawk and Hudson rivers meet, about 10 miles north of Albany. This former textile town is easily reached via Route 32 from Albany or Route 470 from Troy. Interstate 787 provides highway access along the Hudson River. The dramatic 90-foot Cohoes Falls, which once powered the city's mills, is the second-largest waterfall in New York by volume.
