Cochranton is a small borough in Crawford County, about 15 miles southeast of Meadville via State Route 173. Most visitors arrive from US Route 322, which connects to Interstate 79 for access to Pittsburgh or Erie. The town sits along French Creek in rolling farmland typical of northwestern Pennsylvania. Its 1874 covered bridge over French Creek is one of the county's few remaining historic wooden spans.
