Coalville is a small mountain town of about 1,900 people located 35 miles northeast of Salt Lake City via I-84 through Echo Canyon. It's positioned in the Weber River valley where travelers often stop en route to Wyoming, Yellowstone, or Park City via Highway 40. The town sits at 5,600 feet elevation with cold, snowy winters and warm summers. The red brick Summit County Courthouse with its white clock tower has been the town's centerpiece since 1904.
