Coahoma is a tiny Delta town of about 200 people in northwestern Mississippi, accessible via US Highway 61 about 45 minutes south of Memphis. The community sits in flat, fertile farmland typical of the Mississippi Delta region. Most visitors pass through on US-61 while exploring Delta music heritage or traveling between regional communities. The town and surrounding county both take their name from the Choctaw word meaning "red panther."
