Clyde is a mountain town of 1,400 people in western North Carolina, about 25 miles west of Asheville via I-40 and US 19. The town sits at 2,700 feet elevation in Haywood County, surrounded by Blue Ridge peaks. US 19 connects it to nearby Waynesville and continues south toward Georgia, while US 276 heads north to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The town's 1940s-era Soda Fountain still serves hand-dipped ice cream in its original downtown location.
