Clinton is a small farming town in western Minnesota, right on the South Dakota border. Take Highway 7 west from the Twin Cities for about 150 miles, or drive 15 miles from Ortonville via Highway 75 and Highway 7. The town sits in classic prairie country with Big Stone Lake nearby, which forms the headwaters of the Minnesota River.
