Clinton, a small county seat in far western Kentucky, sits along US Highway 51 about 15 miles from the Mississippi River. The town of 1,200 connects to nearby Fulton via US 51 south and reaches the river town of Columbus on State Route 123 west. Most visitors arrive via the Purchase Parkway system, accessing Clinton through Mayfield to the north. The centerpiece remains the 1933 Classical Revival courthouse that anchors the historic town square.
